Flexibility in Screw Machining

Atlasburg, PA: APEX Design, Inc. has announced the purchase of PartMaker® advanced CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) software necessary to program complex geometric shapes on multi-axis CNC Swiss-type turning centers. PartMaker® is the world's leading CAM software for Swiss-type turning centers. Swiss-type machine tools were originally developed to produce precision Swiss watch components, but with the incorporation of today's CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology, they are used to produce larger (up to 32mm diameter x 263mm length) complex, precision-machined components for military, medical, and other applications. All of the world's CNC Swiss-machine builders now recommend PartMaker® for programming their machines. Mrs. Melissa Fluharty, President and majority owner of APEX Design, Inc. commented, "The addition of PartMaker® CAD/CAM software allows us to program increasingly complex machined components on our 6-axis turning center. Precision turning and milling operations are completed in one set-up, allowing APEX Design, Inc. to competitively support Western Pennsylvania manufacturers' machined component requirements for emerging technology."

APEX Design, Inc. is a woman-owned small business specializing exclusively in CNC Swiss-type machining.
